Run Marrakesh. Help Build a School.

Join READ Foundation at the International Marathon of Marrakesh on Sunday 31 January 2027 and turn every mile into an opportunity for children in need.

Whether you take on the full marathon or half marathon, your fundraising will help build a school for orphaned and vulnerable children, giving them access to a safe learning environment and the chance of a brighter future.

Your Challenge

Choose from:

• Full Marathon: 42.195 km / 26.2 miles
• Half Marathon: 21.1 km / 13.1 miles

The Marrakech Marathon offers a largely flat and fast course through one of Morocco’s most vibrant cities, including stretches through its famous palm groves.

Registration and Fundraising

• Registration fee: £300
• Minimum fundraising target: £1,000 (this will be set up on LaunchGood once you have registered)
• Registration deadline: 31st October 2026
• Event date: Sunday 31 January 2027
• Registration includes: return flights, accommodation and race entry fees

Flying out on the Friday 29th Jan and return on the 1st of February 2027

Race Day Information

Start Times

• Marathon: 7:45 am
• Half Marathon: 9:15 am
• Participants should arrive at least 30 minutes before their race begins.

Avenue de la Menara, Hivernage, behind the Sofitel Hotel.

Refreshment Stations

Water and orange stations will be available every 5 km along the route. Sponge stations will also be provided every 5 km from the 7 km point.

Cut-off Times

• Half Marathon: 3 hours
• Marathon: 5 hours 30 minutes

Race Bib Collection

Race bibs can be collected from the Travel Gateway stand at the Marathon Village. Please bring your email confirmation to receive your bib number.

• Friday 29 January 2027: 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
• Saturday 30 January 2027: 10:00 am to 6:00 pm

The average daytime temperature in Marrakech during January is approximately 20°C, offering pleasant conditions for running and exploring the city.

Finisher Medals and Awards

Every participant who completes the half marathon or full marathon will receive a finisher’s medal.

The official awards presentation for both races will take place at the finish area on Sunday 31 January 2027.
